Note from SDCC to Councillors on proposed Integenerational Centre, Tymon Park 

Please note that construction work on the proposed Intergenerational Centre, Tymon Park, Wellington Lane, Templeogue Dublin 6W, is due to begin shortly. The contractor is expected to mobilise in the park in September.
 
The facility will be located between the pond and the carpark and will consist of a single-storey building containing a café and a multi-functioning community space. More details of the project can be found on South Dublin County Council’s website at the link below-
Tymon Park - SDCC
 
During the construction period the contractor will occupy a portion of the carpark with a works compound, reducing the number of available carparking spaces. Signs will be placed in the carpark notifying park users, and the local school (St. Mac Dara’s Community College) has been contacted regarding the upcoming works. Access to the bring banks will be maintained.
 
South Dublin County Council apologises for any inconvenience to the public that may arise during the construction period of this new facility.

Note from SDCC on Draft Litter Plan:   In accordance with the provisions of Section 10 of the Litter Pollution Acts, it is proposed to replace the Litter Management Plan 2020-2022.
 
A Draft Litter Management Plan has been prepared for consultation purposes.

The Draft Plan may be viewed on the Council’s consultation portal https://consult.sdublincoco.ie/ from tomorrow, Friday the 4th of August 2023 until Tuesday the 19th of September 2023.
 
The Draft Plan will also be available for inspection at County Hall, Tallaght, Civic Centre, Clondalkin and at all Council Libraries during business hours from Tuesday the 8th of August to Tuesday the 19th of September
 
As part of the consultation process, the Council welcomes submissions, comments or ideas in relation to the draft plan from community, voluntary and representative bodies, including residents’ associations, Tidy Towns groups, Chambers of Commerce etc., as well as from individuals.
 
The final date and time for receipt of submissions or observations on the draft plan is 4.00 p.m. on Tuesday the 19th of September 2023
 
Submissions or observations may be made on the consultation portal until 4.00 p.m. on Tuesday the 19th of September 2023

Below is Information from the Communications Team, SDCC regarding meetings and consultations on the Local Authority Waters Programme
​The Local Authority Waters Programme (LAWPRO) is continuing to facilitate public consultation on the draft River Basin Management Plan 2022 – 2027. Their meetings before Christmas were well attended and generated robust feedback and discussion resulting in a number of submissions from the public.
They are holding additional Zoom meetings to give people another opportunity to attend.  Dates, times and links to register are listed below.

If your constituents have an interest in natural water quality they are encourage to register at the link below and attend on the evening of 23rd February at 7pm. Submissions close on 31st March so there is still plenty of time.
November 2021 - SDCC Public Notice - New Parking Bye-Laws
November 2021 - SDCC -Templeogue Village - Development Work Schedule
Development work in Templeogue Village is scheduled for completion in April 2022. The works will include:
- A new car park
- a new drainage system,
- Ducting for ESB, NTA and Traffic  services
- Resurfacing of road, footways, cycle tracks and car parking spaces,
- Parklet for pedestrian usage outside Maxol Service Station,
- Public Lighting upgrade,
- New Street Furniture.
February 2021 - Home Security Lock Scheme
SDCC has extended its  home security lock scheme. The aim of the scheme is to replace locks on existing external doors with high security anti-snap locks and is provided as a support for older, vulnerable or residents living alone. Please note that not all doors are suitable for lock replacement. Further details available at 014149270 or at comdevof@sdublincoco.ie.

South Dublin County Council Information Notice
Wellington Lane and Roundabouts Safety Assessment Pre Trial Survey
The Wellington Lane and Roundabouts Safety Assessment Pre Trial Survey’ went live on Thursday the 12.11.20, and will be open until 27.11.20, when the temporary infrastructure will be in place. The teachers and students of the schools in the vicinity of this scheme will be invited to participate.

South Dublin County Council are providing Webinar on this which this will take place from 7pm to 8pm on Wednesday 25th November. Details can be found on the following South Dublin County Council webpage:

A further ‘User Satisfaction Survey’ will be carried out while the temporary measures are in place.

Background information note from SDCC
As you know the Wellington Lane Walking and Cycling Scheme was transformed by a Temporary Scheme.
A short part of the temporary scheme was put in place from the Spawell roundabout past Mac Dara’s Secondary School down to the Orwell Roundabout, it took some time to ‘bed In’ as many schemes do and the time has come to install the remainder of the trial along Wellington Lane and Whitehall Road including the Orwell and Templeville Roundabouts.

The reason for this decision was due to the travel restrictions applied by the first Covid 19 lock down earlier this year. It was decided that a temporary scheme would be put in place to assist in finding the best solutions to inform the permanent scheme. The trial will be installed later this month and will be in place for 6 months. Many of you will receive a leaflet through your door in the coming week informing of this trial.
 
The Council has carried out traffic surveys including speed surveys, pre trial surveys are complete, and following the installation, further traffic surveys will be carried out.
 As part of this temporary scheme the Council would have planned to carry out face to face ‘User Satisfaction Surveys’ to find out how local people feel about existing road crossings, speeds of vehicles and how they themselves drive along this route as it exists today, pre trial. But due to Level 5 restrictions face to face surveys are not possible.
Therefore the Council has utilised an on line survey using the consultation portal
